Shirodhara Treatment

Service Description

Shirodhara is a relaxing oil treatment lasting approx 45 minutes of a continuous stream of warm oil is poured over the forehead. Specific herbalized oil is chosen based on the individual’s constitution. It is excellent to promote theta and alpha brain waves as well as nervous system reset into parasympathetic. It is traditionally indicated for anxiety, insomnia, headaches and neurological conditions though is supportive for almost everyone as it promotes well being. Treatment begins with a short marma (acupressure)/polarity treatment. Pre and post treatment notes: * If possible, please arrive with clean, dry hair * Is possible, wear a shirt that you don’t mind if gets a little oily * After the treatment you may wash your hair immediately, in a few hours or the next day. * See that the rest of the day, or at least the few hours after the treatment, you are able to rest, restore and relax and hydrate. Shirodhara is contraindicated while in the first couple days of menstruation, soon after surgery, while pregnant, during acute sickness and if there are open wounds on the head.
